DESCRIPTION:Learn Still Life Painting with Lani Emanuel in this four day workshop.\nOctober 6\, 13\, 20\, 27.   1-4pm \nLearn a four step approach to still life painting inspired by Edouard Manet’s floral paintings with artist Lani Emanuel.  The first class will cover techniques for creating and preserving the initial drawing. The second and third class will focus on learning to identify value structure and color relationships while blocking in objects in the still life using direct observation.  The fourth class will cover painting detail to finish the painting.  While Manet used oil paint\, we will be using acrylic paint on canvas. \nwww.laniemanuel.com \n$100 for LOCA members/Non-members $200. \nThis class will be held in the Art Room of the Laguna Beach Community and Susi Q senior center. \nThe City requires that you wear a mask and are vaccinated.

DESCRIPTION:Drypoint is a way to make etching plates without using anything more than a needle tool and a plastic plate. Drypoint works equally well with playful and representational images.   \nFirst session will cover making plates and proofing. Second class will cover printing options including\, various inks\, c’aran d’ache crayon printing\, monoprints as opposed to edition printing\, hand printing\, and hand coloring finished prints \nWe will be working small\, 4×6” so bring in several small images – photographs\, cartoons\, sketches. at this size. \nAll images will be reversed in the printing process\, so if this is important to you reverse your images on  a photocopy machine.  \nThis class is held on two consecutive Wednesdays in the Art Room of the Susi Q. \nTeacher: Hedy Buzan \nFee: $50 for two classes (Sept. 22 & Sep. 29\, 2021 from 1:00-4:00pm). $100 for non-members \nThis Class is part of LOCA’s Senior Art Escapes program at the Laguna Beach Community Center.
