Our first classes this year are Watercolors with Elizabeth McGhee.~\nwww.elizabethmcghee.com \nMarch 24 – Week 1: Composition and Mood – 1-4pmIn this class students will make a variety of quick watercolor sketches that will inform a more finished painting the following week.  The focus will be on discovering compositions that evoke a mood or feeling. \nMarch 31 – Week 2: Value and Color – 1-4pm\nIn this class students will elaborate on their chosen composition from the previous week and explore a full color palette.  Watercolor pencils will be utilized for more texture techniques and rendering. \nSupply list:\n-Watercolor pan set- Winsor and Newton preferred\, but any type will be fine   (LOCA will have Prang sets available for use)\n-140lb watercolor paper sketchbook\, tablet\, or block- any size will do\n-variety of brushes (LOCA will have brushes available for use)\n-watercolor pencils (LOCA will have SOME available for use)\n-graphite pencil\n-kneaded eraser\n-artist’s tape (either 3/4” or 1/2”) \nThe classes will be held at a spacious garden in Mission Viejo which is about a 20 minute drive from downtown Laguna Beach. The address and location will be forwarded upon registration. Registrations will be accepted in the order they are received. The class size is limited!\nEmail: loca@locarts.org to register\nClass Fee:\n$50 for the both classes. The classes are $100 for non-LOCA members. Plant material bundled inside of cloth is steamed or boiled to release the dye found naturally inside the plant\, creating a contact print in the shape of the leaf or flower used. \nEach guest will design their own set of napkins and a tea towel to take home as a gift or keep for oneself. \nThis art experience is being offered in the home/studio garden of local artist Reem Khalil in the heart of Laguna village. \nThis is a two session class held on two consecutive FRIDAYS.
