DESCRIPTION:Drawing inspiration from nature and the garden join Mary in an ALL MEDIUM PAINTING workshop using  WATERCOLOR\, GOUACHE & INK. \nDiscover the creative freedom of mixing mediums\, using watercolor and colorful gouache paint with pencil and ink.  Experiment with varying levels of transparency and opacity with different mediums and accent each painting with both permanent and water-soluble inks. \nHeld on a TUESDAYS this  class consists of two\, three hour sessions on April 20 and 27\, 2021\, each class is held from 1 to 4 pm. \nThe classes will be held at a spacious garden in Mission Viejo which is about a 25 minute drive from downtown Laguna Beach. Learn the art of eco print where Nature and Alchemy are the fountain of inspiration! \nEco-printing is a technique where plants\, leaves and flowers leave their shapes\, color\, and marks on fabric. Plant material bundled inside of cloth is steamed or boiled to release the dye found naturally inside the plant\, creating a contact print in the shape of the leaf or flower used. \nEach guest will design their own set of napkins and a tea towel to take home as a gift or keep for oneself. \nThis art experience is being offered in the home/studio garden of local artist Reem Khalil in the heart of Laguna village. \nThis is a two session class held on two consecutive FRIDAYS.

It offers families a wonderful activity to participate in together. This workshop is offered to ages 6 through adult at Treasure Island Beach below the Montage Resort. \nThis is a grant funded program and is part of a new collaboration between LOCA Arts Education and Laguna Plein Air Painters Association. \nTeachers: September McGee \n5-18 yrs when accompanied by a paying adult \nAdvance registration required for all students.

During the second class students will make hand pulled papers\, made from cotton lintels and learn how to do press molds using molds furnished by LOCA\, as well as cards furnished by LOCA. Mada will offer suggestions on how to use these paper molds with the blank cards provided. \nExtra hair dryers would be great to have if students could bring them to class. \nThis class series is held on two consecutive Wednesdays May 6 & 13 in the Art Room of the Susi Q.
