DESCRIPTION:Two Week Class – Wednesdays:  April 22 and May 6th 1:30 – 4:00pm \nIn this hands-on ceramics class\, you’ll learn all the essential techniques of handbuilding — including pinch pots\, coils\, slabs\, and how to score and slip. As you practice these foundational skills\, you’ll get to explore your own creativity and bring your ideas to life! I’ll provide some guided project ideas to get you started\, but you’ll also have the freedom to create your own unique pieces. \nOnce your greenware creations are complete\, I’ll take them to my studio to be bisque fired. We will skip a week while your creations are fired. Then you’ll return to paint and decorate your work with colorful glazes. After the final kiln firing\, your finished pieces will be food\, drink\, microwave\, and dishwasher-safe — ready to use or gift! \nThis class is designed to be flexible and creative! Whether you’re shaping clay\, glazing\, or adding the finishing touches with paint\, you can work at your own pace. DESCRIPTION:Adults\, teens\, and families are invited! Enjoy this two-part lecture and workshop surrounded by sprouting vegetables\, fruits and flowers. \nPart one is a mural talk with tile artist Mike Tauber. He will share how he designed the 7 mosaic plaques on display\, and how more than 100 citizens each decorated a tile. Attendees will watch as he demonstrates all steps from drawing with a wax pencil\, to painting in wet glazes\, to kiln firing\, to cementing the mosaics. \nPart two is a hands-on workshop with Carole Boller. She will lead everyone in creating a joyful sunflower\, from drawing\, to rendering with watercolor pencils\, to brushing in colorful washes. Everyone takes home finished art. \nAdvance registration is required. \nFEE:  $10 LOCA general members / $20 Non-Members / Under 18 is free with one paid adult. \nLOCA Supporter level members attend for free but must register at loca@locaarts.org. \nFree street parking.~ Capacity 20.

Followed by a LPAPA Gallery Reception and Tour from 6:00pm-7:30pm \nJeff invites you to join him for this fun and informative plein air painting learning experience as he demonstrates his plein air painting techniques as he paints Laguna Beach’s Iconic Golden Hour. After watching Jeff’s demo\, you are encouraged to paint on your own in beautiful Laguna and practice what you learned.
