Art lovers are invited to wear their zaniest red-white-blue outfits for three fun and free events in downtown Laguna Beach on Saturday March 14.
The fun starts at 10:00am at Forest Promenade where the Community Concert Band will play patriotic favorites including America the Beautiful, You’re a Grand Old Flag, and This Land is Your Land.
At 11:00am the Patriots Day Parade kicks off at the high school, passes the public library and concludes at City Hall. LOCA’s “Catch the Art Wave” exhibit #43 will feature an ocean-themed golf cart, followed by a school of giant colorful fish, each decorated by LOCA students at Glennwood House. Laguna Art Museum, Pageant of the Masters, and Sawdust Festival will be among 80 other exhibitors featuring everything from marching bands and bedazzled horses to cart wheelers and baton twirling ballerinas. Outgoing artist of the year Mike Tauber passes the title on to jeweler David Nelson who will appear on float #16.
The fun continues at 2:00 at Laguna Beach Public Library for a LOCA Family Art Experience workshop. Check-in at 1:45, space is limited – first come first served. 363 Glenneyre.
