LOCA Art Talks ~ Bill Wallen: Advertising Design
March 19, 2026 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

What does the movie Jaws, Tina Turner, and Pizza Hut all have in common? They all had advertising campaigns designed by Bill Wallen. Starting in 1968, he drew storyboards and created visuals for big ticket firms from Madison Avenue to Hollywood Boulevard. Attendees will recognize many of the hundreds of motion picture campaigns he created – and will be mesmerized by the stories behind them. Wallen, based in Los Angeles, will talk of collaborations and current projects he’s working on.
As a bonus to those attending LOCA Art Talks, everyone will receive a post-event certificate for 15%-off food at nearby Lumberyard Restaurant. Advance registration is required. 374 Ocean Ave. Metered parking on the street.
