Mosaic Art Talk and Paint a Sunflower at the South Laguna Community Garden Park

Adults, teens, and families are invited! Enjoy this two-part lecture and workshop surrounded by sprouting vegetables, fruits and flowers.

Part one is a mural talk with tile artist Mike Tauber. He will share how he designed the 7 mosaic plaques on display, and how more than 100 citizens each decorated a tile. Attendees will watch as he demonstrates all steps from drawing with a wax pencil, to painting in wet glazes, to kiln firing, to cementing the mosaics.

Part two is a hands-on workshop with Carole Boller. She will lead everyone in creating a joyful sunflower, from drawing, to rendering with watercolor pencils, to brushing in colorful washes. Everyone takes home finished art.

FEE:  $10 LOCA general members / $20 Non-Members / Under 18 is free with one paid adult.
