Online Contest: Name that Plaque
June 24 - July 10
LOCA invites art-lovers to submit names for Laguna Beach’s newest outdoor art installation. The art is a wall display of 7 mosaic tile plaques displayed at South Laguna Community Garden Park starting in late-July 2025.
Winning titles will be announced at a Dedication Event July 26, 6:00-7:30pm, and will be displayed alongside the art works. Prizes will be awarded for winning titles. The event is free, public invited.
Open for Submissions June 24, 2025
Final date for Submissions July 10, 2025.
To Enter
- Submit maximum one title per plaque. Submit for one, several, or all seven plaques.
Political or religious themes are discouraged.
- Provide First/Last Name. Age if under 18.
- State plaque design, and suggested title. (see photo below)
- Email submissions to LOCA@LOCAarts.org now through July 10.
Additional Information
LOCA’s community mosaic project is presented by LOCA Arts Education and led by Laguna Beach artist Mike Tauber. Tiles were decorated in local workshops by 90 artists and art lovers from across the United States. The project was funded to LOCA by grants from City of Laguna Beach and local lodging establishments, FOA Foundation, and private donations. Additional support was from South Laguna Community Garden Park.
Winning titles will be chosen by representatives from Third Street Writers, and approved by representatives of South Laguna Community Garden Park.
